Join the Northern Blues Forest Collaborative on an all-day field tour to the Sheep Creek Stewardship Restoration and Vegetation Management Project with a brief stop at Bird Track Springs Project, in the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest, La Grande Ranger District.
Attendees will hear about habitat restoration projects planned at a subwatershed scale through the collaborative efforts of local partners. Come with questions and a collaborative mindset as we discuss:
Successes and challenges of the riparian habitat restoration projects
Effects on various wildlife habitats, including fish and beaver habitat
Important connections between aquatics and upland restoration work
*Please bring water, lunch, and appropriate clothes and footwear; the tour will include a fair amount of walking on uneven surfaces in wet environments; waders are highly recommended if you would like to explore the project site. Rubber boots are a great alternative and will still allow for exploration of much of the project site.
Transportation and parking are limited; please RSVP by emailing nbfc@wallowaresources.org.
